Topshop, top of my list again!

Topshop, Paisley cutout boots, £90

It must be at least a decade since I’ve been so excited about Topshop‘s latest range!  Decided to visit Anexartisias Street today on a mission to find a pair of new ‘non-skinny’ jeans but that’s a whole different topic in itself which I’ll write about in another post.

Topshop was the first shop I went in and normally Iwould  just browse just out of habit and never really see anything to write home about.   So what greeted me was a pleasant surprise, on display was exposed rear zips on tops and dresses very Victoria Beckham-esque, sheer tops and sequinned shrugs, ideal for layering, exciting scarves and headbands and gorgeous boot shoes.

As you can see from the pictures the main theme of the Autumn-Winter 2010 collection are birds.  I bought myself a light grey light weight scarf covered in ducks.  Love it!

I just need to ask if anyone knows someone working for the Limassol Municipality council and enquire when they are going to pedestrianise Anexartisias Street and widen the pavements? The shopping experience is totally dull and uninspiring and dangerous.  I think that most shoppers seem to agree as shops are closing like there’s no tomorrow.

Topshop, tattoo zip back vest, £30

Topshop, Peacock mesh skirt, £32

Columbia Plaza, makes me feel at home

Columbia Plaza, Limassol

I love Limassol but sometimes I find myself yearning for that one place that reminds me of home, England and for my adopted home Sweden.  Everytime I visit Columbia Plaza located in the heart of Limassol’s old town I get my fix of Northern Europe in an hour.

As I drive and park in the underground parking area, the whole experience begins.  No need to reverse park into an impossibly small space on a crossroad and push in the wing mirrors whilst looking around for any parking wardens waiting to pounce.  I happily lock the doors and walk away, although I do always think it’s a shame that more people don’t have the same idea as me,as there’s ever only been a couple of cars there when I visit at lunch time!

As I vacate the parking area I usually breath out and embrace the flow of the building and the cleanliness.  The black slate flooring and the dark wooden trim give this centre a stamp of quality.

I’ve only ever eaten at La Boca, the pizza and pasta restaurant at lunch time.  But everytime I’ve been I’ve raved over my selection.  My favourite is the Spinach and Ricotta Raviolli along with the Rucola Pizza

From the cosy courtyard to the basil plants placed on the heavy wooden tables everything just screams understated Scandinavian class.  And funnily enough the lady that meets and greets the customers is actually Swedish.  I also overheard some other people talking Swedish there today so they too find this establishment to their taste.

The food ordering process goes something like this, order your food inside the restaurant, swipe a card that is given to you by the Swedish woman and collect a buzzer to take with you to your table.  When your food is ready the buzzer will vibrate and you can collect your mouthwatering dish.  All very practical and Scandinavian

Prices are ok, a pasta dish is around €8,

Ryan air releases €8 flights

In Travel on October 5, 2010 at 4:26 pm

Ryanair arrives in Cyprus from November

Ryanair has landed in Cyprus and is making sure that we all stand up and take notice of this low cost Irish carrier.  From midnight last night Ryanair released 1 million €8 flights including all taxes and charges for flights in November travelling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on all its 500 European flights.

In November Ryanair will start its direct route from Larnaca airport to Brussels and in December from Larnaca to Barcelona.  So unfortunately the offer will only be valid for Brussel bound flights from Cyprus.  But I’m sure there will be more offers in the future for those of you wanting to travel the Spanish city.

Just so you’re clear,  if you book with a Mastercard, travel with a carry-on bag and book in online you will pay as advertised only €8.  Now that’s what I call budget flying.

But don’t hang around they’re sure to be snapped up quick time and you have until midnight on Thursday to book your flights.
